NEW COMMIT: The University of Massachusetts – Amherst has received a verbal commitment for next fall from in-state swimmer Olivia Mozoki of Marshfield, Mass.

Mozoki swims year-round with Kingfish Swimming and concluded her summer season with five lifetime bests and six second-swims at the ISCA Junior National Championships. She placed eighth in the 200 breast at New England Seniors last winter and was a five-time New England Age Group finalist in March. Also representing Marshfield High School, Mozoki finished second in the 100 breast and fifth in the 200 IM at the MIAA Division II State Championships as a junior after winning the latter as well as the 100 fly at South Sections a week prior.

She told Swimming World:

“So thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at UMass Amherst next year! Thankful for my family, coaches, and friends for the constant support. Looking forward to being apart of such an amazing team and pursuing my passion in science. Go Minutemen!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:07.11
  • 200 breast – 2:25.24
  • 400 IM – 4:35.41
  • 100 free – 54.45
  • 200 free – 1:55.75

When she suits up for the Minutemen as a member of the class of 2023, Mozoki will join a breaststroke training group that includes Chelsea Meiring and an IM squad led by Kelly Malyszka. Although she currently sits just outside of scoring range at the A-10 Championships, she has continuously made improvements each season with just under a year of club swimming still to go.
