The International Olympians have made plenty of heads turn at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Atlanta as the reigning World Champion in the 200 breast, Yulia Efimova of Russia was the favorite in the 200 final on Thursday night. The meet has been quiet with a lot of USA’s amateur swimmers sitting out due to the upcoming NCAA Championships. But plenty of international swimmers have come to the 1996 Olympic pool to make some noise in early March.

Efimova had the lead early but was run down by Canadian Olympian Kierra Smith who won the final at 2:24.04. Smith ran down Efimova with a 36.96 last 50 split. Efimova was second at 2:24.42. China’s Shi Jinglin who won the bronze in Rio in this event was fourth at 2:25.13.

Madisyn Cox (2:25.10), Molly Hannis (2:26.21), Melanie Margalis (2:26.25), Breeja Larson (2:27.41) and Micah Sumrall (2:27.81) also competed in the A-final.
