NEW COMMIT: Los Angeles, Calif. freestyler Lindsay Pantell has verbally committed to Kenyon College for the fall of 2019.

Plantell swims year-round for Burbank Los Angeles Swim Team (BLAST Swim Team) and concluded her long course season with five finals appearances at the SMSC Junior Olympics where her highest finish was a fourth-place showing in the 200m free. She achieved 100% best times at the SCS Winter Age Group Championships in December which included bronze medals in the 200 free and 400 IM. Pantell has competed at the CIF-Southern Section each of her three high school seasons so far for Marlborough, taking third in the 500 free and fifth in the 200 free during her junior season.

She told Swimming World:

“I am excited to announce my commitment to Kenyon College!  I evaluated the 15 most important aspects of attending a college including academics, coaching, team chemistry, and majors in which I am interested. By prioritizing what was important to me, it became clear that Kenyon was my best choice. I am thankful beyond words for my family, BLAST coaches, teammates, teachers, and friends for always believing in me. Go Lords”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 25.86
  • 100 free – 54.08
  • 200 free – 1:54.15
  • 500 free – 5:09.34

When she suits up as a member of the class of 2023, Pantell will join a talented freestyle group that includes Celina GermanJulia Moran and Kendall Vanderhoof. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 200 free and 500 free at the 2018 North Coast Championships where Kenyon earned their 25th conference title in program history before finishing second in the team standings at the NCAA DIII Championships.
