NEW COMMIT: High school junior Brooke Dalbey of Flower Mound, Texas, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Kansas for the 2020-21 season and beyond.

Dalbey does her club swimming with Lakeside Aquatic Club and most recently competed at College Station Speedo Sectionals where she recorded seven lifetime bests. She capped off her long course season by racing three events at Rochester Futures this past summer after notching a trio of best times at Austin Speedo Sectionals. Also competing for Flower Mound High School, Dalbey is a three-time Texas UIL 6A State Championship finalist and a three-time First-Team All-State honoree.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic swimming career at the University of Kansas!!  I look forward to swimming for Coach Clark Campbell and being a part of his team.  I’d like to thank my parents, coaches, and teammates for all of their support!  Rock Chalk Jayhawk!”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.06
  • 100 free – 52.19
  • 200 free – 1:51.08
  • 500 free – 5:01.84
  • 100 fly – 57.33

When she suits up for the Jayhawks as a member of the class of 2024, Dalbey will add valuable depth to their free and sprint fly groups. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 200 free as well as the C-final of the 100 free and 100 fly at the 2019 Big 12 Championships where Kansas finished second overall in the team standings.
