NEW COMMIT: Wichita, Kansas freestyler and IMer Maci McCullough has committed to the University of Arkansas, Little Rock and will suit up for the Trojans as a member of the class of 2024.

McCullough does her club swimming with Wichita Northwest YMCA Neptunes and earned a best time this past summer at Des Moines Futures after finaling in a pair of events at Jenks Sectionals. Last winter, she won the 200 breast at the Missouri Valley SCY Championships before going on to register four top-20 showings at Columbia Sectionals.

Also competing for Wichita West High School, McCullough is a six-time Kansas 6A State Championship finalist. She won the 200 free and was the 100 free runner-up as a junior while placing second in the 500 free and third in the 200 free during her sophomore season. She also earned silver in both the 500 free and 200 IM during her rookie campaign.

She told Swimming World:

“When I went to visit Little Rock it felt like home. Coach Amy and the team were so friendly and welcoming. I cannot wait to be a Trojan next year!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 free – 52.37
  • 200 free – 1:51.87
  • 500 free – 5:02.51
  • 200 IM – 2:07.53
  • 400 IM – 4:29.85

McCullough will make an immediate impact when she arrives on campus at the start of the 2020-21 season as her best times already rank near the top of their lineup. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100 free, 200 free, and 400 IM as well as the B-final of the 200 IM and 500 free at the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Championships.
