Juniors Qualifier Mason Rhode Commits to Washington University in St. Louis

NEW COMMIT: Breaststroker and IMer Mason Rhode of Frankfort, Ill. has announced his commitment to Washington University in St. Louis beginning in the fall of 2020.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 58.38
  • 200 breast – 2:04.92
  • 200 IM – 1:53.50
  • 400 IM – 4:06.23

He told Swimming World:

“I’m super proud and excited to announce my commitment to swim and study at Washington University in St. Louis.  I couldn’t be more confident that this team and this university will provide me with an incredible experience for the next 4 years!  Thanks to my coaches and everyone who has helped me along the way.”

Rhode, who owns the Winter Juniors cut in the 100m breast, swims year-round with FMC Aquatic and earned five best times at NCSAs last short course season. This past summer, he placed 16th in the 200m breast at Minneapolis Sectionals. Also competing for Lincoln Way East High School, he has competed at the Illinois State Championships the past three seasons.
