NEW COMMIT: The United States Naval Academy has begun their Class of 2026 recruiting after scoring a verbal commitment from Jacob Pishko of Raleigh, N.C. for fall 2022.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at the Naval Academy! I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me along the way. I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve our country, and cannot wait for the adventures ahead! Go Navy! Beat Army! ⚓️“

A talented butterflyer and freestyler, Pishko does his club swimming with TAC Titans and most recently earned four best times at the Premier LC Meet last month after taking fourth in the mile at Cary Sectionals in March. In Summer 2019, he raced to 16th in the 200m fly at Greensboro Sectionals.

He also excels in open water. Pishko won the Junior National title in the 7.5K race at the Open Water Junior National Championships in April. In 2019, he placed 13th in the Junior National 5K race.

His best times include:

  • 100 fly – 49.68
  • 200 fly – 1:48.00
  • 200 free – 1:40.11
  • 500 free – 4:31.18
  • 1000 free – 9:19.30
  • 1650 free – 15:40.57

Pishko is currently a senior at Bolles School with plans to take a post-graduate year at Mercersburg Academy during the 2021-22 academic year. He placed 11th in the 500 free and 12th in the 200 free at the Florida 1A State Championships as a freshman.

He would’ve scored in the top-8 of the mile, in the A-final of the 200 fly, and the B-final of the 200/500 free at the 2021 Patriot League Championships.

Also, just made a Wave 1 OT cut in the 2fly this past weekend at the TAC Titans Spring Invite with a 2:00.34. Congrats Jacob, well deserved!
