NEW COMMIT: The University of Michigan has earned a verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season from Austin, Texas freestyler and current high school junior Quinn Schaedler.

Schaedler swims year-round with Austin Swim Club and owns four Summer Nationals standards. She most recently earned bronze in both the 100 free and 200 free at College Station Speedo Sectionals after doing the same in both events at Juniors West in December. This past summer, she competed in a trio of events at Phillips 66 Nationals before going on to place 18th in the 100m free at Junior Nationals.

She told Swimming World:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Michigan!! Thank you to my coaches, teammates, friends, and family for helping me get to where I am today. Can’t wait to be apart of this amazing team. Go blue!”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 22.89
  • 100 free – 48.84
  • 200 free – 1:45.91
  • 500 free – 4:51.09

Schaedler will join a long legacy of talented freestylers when she arrives in Ann Arbor as a member of the Wolverines’ class of 2024. Her best times would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100/200 free as well as the C-final of the 50 free at the 2019 Big 10 Championships where Michigan finished second overall in the team standings.
