Junior National Finalist Kenzie Hinrich Lends 2027 Verbal to Wisconsin
NEW COMMIT: The University of Wisconsin has secured a new verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from Kenzie Hinrich of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Hinrich is a Junior National qualifier who excels in breaststroke and IM.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I’m extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Wisconsin- Madison!! Hinrich trains year-round with Sioux Falls Swim Team. She won the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM at West Fargo Speedo Sectionals in March, also taking second in the 50 breast. She finished 13th in the 100 breast at Juniors West back in December. Last summer, she dinaled in the 50m breast at Junior Nationals after four top-25 finishes at Madison Futures.
Her best times include:
- 100 breast: 1:01.98
- 200 breast: 2:16.20
- 200 IM: 2:02.12
Wisconsin finished fourth at the 2026 Big Ten Championships. Her best time in the 100 breast would’ve scored in the C-final at the conference meet.
Hinrich’s father, Kirk Hinrich, played in the NBA from 2003-16, mainly with the Chicago Bulls, and was on the U.S. National Team.
