NEW COMMIT: South Beach, N.Y. breaststroker Angelina “Ange” Harris has declared her verbal intention to continue her academic and swimming career at Arizona State University beginning in 2021.

She will join Ana Izabella Adame of Santa Clarita, Calif. in Tempe as a member of the Sun Devils’ class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am proud to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Arizona State University. Can’t wait to be a sun devil !!! #forksup”

Harris does her club swimming with Three Village Swim Club and owns four U.S. Open standards. She most recently earned bronze in the 200m breast as well as took sixth in the 100m breast at Metropolitan Seniors after racing three events at the Toyota U.S. Open. Last summer, she won the 200m breast at Eastern Zone Seniors before going on to finish 14th in that event at Junior Nationals.

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:02.43
  • 200 breast – 2:15.61
  • 200 IM – 2:03.33
  • 400 IM – 4:20.70

Also competing for Miller Place High School, Harris is a six-time New York Federation Championship finalist. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American finished fourth in the 100 breast and sixth in the 200 IM as a junior while taking seventh and sixth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

She would’ve placed in the B-final of the 200 breast as well as the C-final of the 100 breast at the 2020 Pac-12 Championships where the Sun Devils finished fifth overall in the team standings.
