NEW COMMIT: Binghamton University has officially begun their recruiting class for the fall of 2022 after receiving a verbal commitment from Jordyn Spector of Phoenix, Az.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming careers at Binghamton University! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, and teachers for all of their love and support! I can’t wait to be a part of such an amazing team! GO BEARCATS!!”

Primarily a distance freestyler, Spector trains year-round with Phoenix Swim Club and most recently earned three best times at Austin Sectionals this past weekend after placing fourth in the 1000 free at Phoenix Sectionals in March. She also earned silver in the mile and bronze in the 1000 at Arizona Seniors last short course season.

Her best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:55.20
  • 500 free – 5:02.46
  • 1000 free – 10:21.87
  • 1650 free – 17:15.83

A rising senior at Pinnacle High School, Spector placed sixth in the 500 free and 12th in the 200 free as a sophomore at the Arizona DI State Championships.

Spector is a great pickup for the Bearcats, who finished fourth in the team standings at the 2021 America East Championships. She would’ve placed third in the 1000 free (the mile wasn’t offered in 2021), fifth in the 500 free, and 10th in the 200 free at last season’s conference meet.
