IX FINA World Masters Swimming Championships Kicks off in New Zealand

CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand – 182 USMS swimmers are slated to compete in the FINA World Masters Swimming Championships IX in the city of Christchurch on the south island of New Zealand. The swimming portion runs from March 24-31.

Australian Masters Nationals
10 USMS swimmers competed in the Australian Masters Nationals on their way to Christchurch with very fine results. The meet was held at the Sydney Aquatic Centre in Homebush where the 2000 Olympics were held. The meet was contested in Short Course Meters. Swimmers attending included Barb Harris, Pam Himstreet, Bob Bruce and Tom Landis from Oregon; Michael Collins, Mike Freshly, and Terry Tongate from California; Danielle Ogier and Graham Johnson from Texas, and Tom Tripp from Ohio.

Ogier, Landis, and Johnson each broke World Records during the meet. Full results can be found at:
