NEW COMMIT: Nova Southeastern University has landed a huge commitment for the fall of 2021 from Ramat Gan, Israel native May Lowy, who will suit up for the Sharks after completing her military service.

A talented butterflyer, Lowy trains year-round with the KMC Lions. She was Israel’s top performer in the 50m fly and 100m fly last year after winning both of those events, as well as the 200m fly, at the Israel Winter Olympic Trials. At the 2018 Academy Championships, she won the 200m fly by over eight seconds.

At the 2018 European Championships, she competed in the 200m IM and 50m/100m/200m fly and was a semi-finalist in the latter.

In meters, her best times include:

  • 50 LCM fly – 28.17
  • 100 LCM fly – 1:00.78
  • 200 SCM fly – 2:10.55

In yards, those times convert to:

  • 50 fly – 24.62
  • 100 fly – 53.41
  • 200 fly – 1:57.68

No doubt Lowy will make a major impact when she arrives on campus as a member of the Sharks’ Class of 2025. Her best converted times in the 100/200 fly would’ve scored in the A-final at the 2019 NCAA Championships. Those converted times are already faster than the school records and she’ll have one year of overlap with Sasha Maslova.
