NEW COMMIT: The University of Iowa has officially entered the class of 2025 recruiting game after snagging a verbal from backstroker Noelle Harvey of San Marcos, Calif. who announced her commitment via Instagram.

Harvey, who owns three Winter Juniors standards, does her club swimming with North Coast Aquatics and capped off her long course season by finishing fourth in the 200m back and fifth in the 100m back at Mount Hood Futures. Last winter, she earned two best times at Juniors West and placed seventh in the 500 free at Carlsbad Sectionals.

A current junior at La Costa Canyon High School, Harvey placed 10th in the 100 back and 11th in the 100 free at the CIF State Championships during her sophomore season. As a freshman, she was the 500 free runner-up and grabbed bronze in the 200 free at the CIF San Diego Section 2 Championships.

Her best times include (SCY/LCM):

  • 100 back – 56.15/1:04.74
  • 200 back – 2:02.17/2:19.24
  • 50 free – 23.90/27.30
  • 100 free – 50.78/58.99
  • 200 free – 1:50.15/2:06.77
  • 500 free – 4:52.06/4:29.27

Even with just under two years of club swimming still to go before suiting up for the Hawkeyes at the start of the 2020-21 season, Harvey will add valuable depth to their lineup. She’s just shy of scoring range at the Big Ten Championships, but has consistently made improvements each season and is fresh off a successful summer season.
