Indiana Secures 2026 Verbal From Sprinter Brody Engelstad
NEW COMMIT: Indiana University has scored a new verbal commitment for Fall 2026 from Junior National qualifier Brody Engelstad of West Fargo, North Dakota.
He will join Sam Wolf in Bloomington as a member of the Hoosiers’ Class of 2030.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Indiana University! I would like to thank my family and the coaches, teachers, teammates, and friends that have supported me throughout this journey. I also want to thank all of the IU coaches for this incredible opportunity. Go Hoosiers!”
A sprint freestyler, Engelstad most recently competed at Juniors West where he finaled in the 50 free and 100 free. This past summer, he qualified for finals in the 50m free and 100m free at the Speedo Summer Championships.
He trains year-round with West Fargo Flyers.
His best times include:
- 50 free – 20.41
- 100 free – 44.66
- 200 free – 1:42.55
Currently a junior at West Fargo High School, Engelstad won the 50 free and 100 free at the North Dakota State Championships in both 2023 and 2024.
The Hoosiers won their third straight Big Ten title in 2024, also placing fourth at the 2024 NCAA Championships.
