NEW COMMIT: Ally Larson, who currently lives in London, has verbally committed to Northwestern University as a member of the class of 2023.

Originally from Edina, Minn., Larson has been studying at the American School in London and competing for Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club. She most recently raced at the British Summer Championships where she recorded lifetime bests in both IMs and competed in both of those events at Swim England Winter National Championships last December. When she was living in the United States, Larson swam for Aquajets Swim Team and Edina High School.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Northwestern University! I fell in love with Northwestern from the moment I stepped on campus. They have the perfect balance of academics and athletics, and I can tell the program is moving in a great direction with an incredible team and new coaches and facilities. I can’t wait for next year! Go Cats!”

In LCM, her best times are:

  • 200 IM – 2:18.05
  • 400 IM – 4:51.23
  • 100 fly – 1:03.15
  • 100 free – 58.84
  • 200 free – 2:06.26

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 200 IM – 2:01.06
  • 400 IM – 4:15.11
  • 100 fly – 56.01
  • 100 free – 52.01
  • 200 free – 1:51.61

Larson will make an immediate impact when she arrives on campus for the 2019-20 season. Her best 400 IM converted to yards would’ve ranked second on the Wildcats’ lineup last season and would’ve scored in the B-final at the 2018 Big Ten Championships. She’ll have two seasons to train with top returning IMer Calypso Sheridan.
