Illinois State Redbirds Bring In Class of 2025 Verbals from Emma Feltzer and Mia Snow

NEW COMMIT: Edwardsburg, Mich. native Emma Feltzer and Mia Snow of Omaha, Neb. have both announced their verbal commitments to Illinois State beginning in the fall of 2021.

Both swimmers will join Ella Glaspie and Karinda Meeuwsen in Normal, Ill. as members of the Redbirds’ class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am more than excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Illinois State University to continue my swimming career and pursue my education! I chose ISU because of the amazing team, coaches and campus that immediately felt like home to me! Thank you to all my friends, family and coaches for helping me through the good and the bad. Go Redbirds!?⚪️”

A talented freestler, Feltzer does her club swimming with Irish Aquatics and earned bronze in the 200 free at the 2018 Indiana Age Group SCY Championships. Last summer, she competed in two events at the Indiana Senior LCM Championships.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.07
  • 100 free – 51.74
  • 200 free – 1:52.24
  • 500 free – 5:09.35

Also competing for South Bend Saint Joseph High School, Feltzer has competed at the Indiana State Championships the past three years. She placed 11th in the 100 free and 13th in the 200 free as a junior while racing to 14th in the latter event during her sophomore season.

MIA SNOW

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Illinois State University! I chose ISU because the coaches and team made it feel like home. ISU is a great fit for me both athletically and academically. I’m looking forward to being a part of the program. I would like to thank my parents, coaches, and teammates for helping me get here. Can’t wait to be a redbird!”

A versatile swimmer, Snow swims year-round with Sarpy County Swim Club and placed third in both the 50 free and 100 free at the Speedo Midwest Challenge. She earned a best time at Jenks Sectionals last summer before going on to final in the 100m fly at Des Moines Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 100 free – 51.81
  • 200 free – 1:52.15
  • 100 back – 57.56
  • 100 fly – 56.22

A rising senior at Westside High School, Snow is a three-time Nebraska State Championship finalist. She earned bronze in the 100 free as a sophomore while taking fourth in that event as well as 10th in the 100 back during her rookie season.
