Hungary Sending 31 to European Championships
The Hungarian Swimming Federation announced the 31 swimmers the nation will send to the 2016 European Championships.
Eleven women will attend the meet. Katinka Hosszú leads the way for Hungary. The Iron Lady swam the world’s second best 400 IM in Mesa earlier this month, and continues to be a dominant force heading into Rio. Liliána Szilágyi, who impressed at the 2014 Youth Olympics, is also on the team.
The rest of the women’s roster includes Kata Burján, Réka György, , Zsuzsanna Jakabos, Adél Juhász, Boglárka Kapás, Ajna Késely, Éva Risztov, Dalma Sebestyén, and Evelyn Verrasztó.
On the men’s side, Hungary will be represented by 20 swimmers. László Cseh, who led the world in the 100 fly last year, is a leader in this group.
The other 19 swimmers are Gábor Balog, Péter Bernek, Bence Biczó, Richárd Bohus, Gábor Financsek, Dávid Földházi, Benjámin Grátz, Gergely Gyurta, Péter Holoda, Dávid Horváth, Tamás Kenderesi, Gergő Kis, Dominik Kozma, Bence Pulai, Kristóf Rasovszky, Krisztián Takács, Ádám Telegdy, Dávid Verrasztó and Balázs Zámbó.
The European Championships begin in London on May 9.
