Hoosiers Add Blue to Roster
BLOOMINGTON, Indiana, April 28. INDIANA head coach Ray Looze and the Indiana swimming and diving program announced the addition of Tim Blue (South Bend, Ind./James W. Riley). He joins Kevin Happ (Hunting Valley, Ohio/University School), Christopher Head (Evansville, Ind./North), Matt Lenton (Perth, Australia/John Septimus Roe Anglican), Tyler McGowan (Vincennes, Ind./Lincoln), Frazier Miller (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier), Chris Oleksiak (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove), Thiago Rebello (Frisco, Texas/Frisco), Jensen Ried (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Springs) and Drew Sease (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) as part of the incoming competitive class for 2006.
"Tim is one of the better swimmers coming out of Indiana this year," Looze said. "We are pleased to have him join the Hoosier family."
A five-time All-American, Blue helped Riley to a 48-3 dual meet record during his four seasons on the team. South Bend Riley also claimed four city, three conference and two sectional titles as well as a state runner-up finish during his time there. Additionally, Blue closed his high school career with 18 pool, five city, four sectional and two school records.
"I chose Indiana because it has such a great history," Blue said. "The team also has a great coaching staff."
Away from the pool, Blue garnered high academic honors, while serving in Student-Athletes for Education and the National Honor Society.
