The heat sheets have come out for the second day of prelims at the Olympic Games in Rio. Events on the docket for day two include the women’s 100 back, men’s 200 free, women’s 100 breast, men’s 100 back, women’s 400 free and men’s 400 free relay.

The women’s 100 back will be highlighted by Australians Emily Seebohm and Madison Wilson, who hope to maintain their country’s momentum after winning two gold medals on night one. Katinka Hosszu also returns to the pool after her world record-setting performance in the 400 IM.

Sun YangConor Dwyer and James Guy all have their sights set on bouncing back after disappointing finishes in the 400 free on night one. Russia’s Yulia Efimova, just approved to compete in Rio, will be in the field for the women’s 100 breast along with Lilly King and Ruta Meilutyte.

Young backstroke stars Ryan Murphy and Mitch Larkin highlight the men’s 100 back along with veteran faces like David Plummer and Camille Lacourt, and no one is expected to touch Katie Ledecky in the women’s 400 free.

Finally, the men’s 400 free relay will conclude the morning, with France having not lost the race in five years, and the Americans and Australians hoping to safely qualify for the final after these two traditional powerhouses failed to do so at last summer’s World Championships in Kazan.
