Heat sheets for the fifth day of prelims are now available here.

The Campbell sisters will finally get to take to the blocks in their individual events after a golden, world record setting relay on the first night. Bronte will swim in the sixth heat of the women’s 100 freestyle as the top seed while Cate will take lane four in heat five. Just last month, Cate set an unexpected world record in this event.

100 backstroke Olympic gold medalist Ryan Murphy will begin his hunt for a second podium appearance in tomorrow morning’s 200 backstroke prelims. He’ll have to get past Australian Mitch Larkin who is the all time fourth best swimmer in this event. Murphy is the sixth. Larkin’s 2016 world leading time is only .05 faster than Murphy’s second best.

Turkey’s Viktoria Zeynep Gunes is top seed in the women’s 200 breaststroke in 2:19.64. Just .01 behind her, Japan’s Rie Kaneto is the only other swimmer under 2:20 with a seed time of 2:19.65.

Michael Phelps will also be back in the morning to take on the 200 IM where he enters as the top seed. His teammate Ryan Lochte makes his individual debut of the Games. Kosuke Hagino of Japan is a serious medal threat in this event as well.

The United States holds the top spot in the women’s 800 freestyle relay and the Italians are seeded second.
