U.S. Olympian Gunnar Bentz, who Thursday was suspended four months for his role in an drunken incident at a gas station in Rio hours after the conclusion of the swimming competition, issued a brief statement via Twitter in which he accepted the issued punishments.
I have learned a lot throughout this experience and look forward to a great season with my UGA teammates! pic.twitter.com/MzU0ht6Ffn

Bentz is currently a junior at the University of Georgia, and a spokesman for Georgia confirmed to Swimming World that the suspension will not affect his status with the school or its swimming program.

The swimmers seem to be following good advice in not commenting any more than necessary. Very smart.
