Grace Wollschlager Will Stay In State With Verbal to Minnesota

NEW COMMIT: Plymouth, Minn. native Grace Wollschlager has handed the University of Minnesota an in-state verbal and will head 20 minutes east to Minneapolis next fall.

Wollschlager swims year-round with Life Time Swim Team and specializes in sprint butterfly and IM. She most recently competed at Minnesota LCM Seniors where she finaled in six events and recorded five personal best times and she also raced four events at NCSAs in March. Also representing Armstrong, Wollschlager has competed at the Minnesota 2A State Championships each of her high school seasons so far. She placed 12th in the 100 fly as a junior at State after placing second in the event at the Section 5AA Championships a week prior.

She told Swimming World:

“Beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my education and swim at the University of Minnesota! Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches who have been so supportive of me throughout my college search, I am so excited for what the future holds. Go Gophers!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 56.45
  • 200 IM – 2:09.72
  • 100 free – 53.07

When she suits up for the Golden Gophers as a member of the class of 2023, Wollschlager will join a talented fly training group that includes Tevyn Waddell and Kasey Milstroh as well as an IM group led by Patricia Van Law. Minnesota finished fourth in the team standings at last season’s Big Ten Championships.
