Germantown Academy Prevails in Matchup of National Powers

FORT WASHINGTON, Pennsylvania, January 16. RARELY does a high school dual meet warrant national attention, but we have a case where it’s worth noting the results of a clash between scholastic squads. Last week, two of the premier female programs in the nation met, with Germantown Academy (Pa.) grabbing a 107.5-77.5 decision over The Peddie School (N.J.).

Each year, Germantown Academy and Peddie rank among the elite in the nation and their dual meet provided some quality times at the scholastic level, despite the fact that the teams continue in heavy training. Germantown and Peddie will meet again in February at the prestigious Eastern Interscholastic Championships. Germantown is coached by Dick Shoulberg, who graces the cover of the January issue of Swimming World Magazine.

Here are the noteworthy marks to come out of the schools’ dual-meet matchup.
