Georgia Tech Opens 2023 Recruiting With Verbal From Futures Finalist Mary Grace Guzzino

NEW COMMIT: Futures qualifier MaryGrace Guzzino of Pearl River, New York, has pledged her verbal commitment for Georgia Tech and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2023.

She told Swimming World:

“I couldn’t be happier to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Georgia Institute of Technology!! I can’t wait to be a part of such a supportive team. Thank you to my family, my friends, and all of my coaches for getting me to this point. GO YELLOW JACKETS!!”

A versatile swimmer, Guzzino does her club swimming with Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester and won the 400 IM at the Boys & Girls Club National Championships back in April, also placing in the top-5 in seven other events. In March, she placed 16th in the 100 breast at NCSAs and earned five best times.

Last summer, she finaled in the 200m breast at Richmond Futures and is currently getting ready to race at Geneva Futures this weekend.

Her best times include:

  • 100 free – 51.60
  • 200 free – 1:50.58
  • 500 free – 4:58.16
  • 200 back – 2:04.40
  • 100 breast – 1:03.32
  • 200 breast – 2:17.71
  • 100 fly – 56.55
  • 200 IM – 2:03.29
  • 400 IM – 4:24.00

A rising senior at Pearl River High School, Guzzino won the 100 back and 100 fly at the Section 1 League 4 Championships this past season. She earned gold and silver in the 100 breast and 200 IM, respectively, at the Section 1 Championships soon after.
