NEW COMMIT: Caleb Blischke of Waukesha, Wisc., has announced his verbal commitment to Georgia Tech as a member of the class of 2024.

Blischke swims year-round with Waukesha Express Swim Team and owns three Winter Junior standards. He most recently competed at NCSAs where he notched a pair of best times and placed 14th in the mile after winning that event at the Wisconsin SCY Championships in February. He also earned two golds and two silvers at the Wisconsin LCM Championships this past summer.

Also competing for Waukesha South/Mukwonago, Blischke is a six-time Wisconsin DI State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American earned bronze in the 200/500 free combo as a junior after finishing fourth in the 500 free and sixth in the 200 IM during his sophomore season.

He told Swimming World:

“I chose Georgia Tech because of the fantastic athletic and academic programs. The team atmosphere is phenomenal and the campus is incredible. I am most excited to train under such respected coaches. I would like to thank God, my parents, coaches, teammates, teachers and competitors who have helped bring me to this point. I can’t wait to be a Yellow Jacket!”

His best times include:

  • 500 free – 4:31.32
  • 1000 free – 9:19.97
  • 1650 free – 15:31.38
  • 200 IM – 1:54.75
  • 400 IM – 4:04.77

When he arrives in Atlanta in the fall of 2020, Blischke will join a young but talented distance group led by Cale Russell, who placed 20th in the mile at the 2019 ACC Championships. Blischke has continuously made improvements each season, dropping 10 seconds from the 500 free, 17 from the 1000 free and 22 from the mile in the past two years.
