Georgia Continues Stranglehold on Women’s Poll But Auburn Newcomer to Men’s Top Spot

PITTSBURGH, PA, January 29. ALL the Stanford men did after beating Michigan to rise to #1 in the following College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) was crush nearby foe Pacific and the two Pac-10 foes, including highly ranked University of Arizona and Arizona State.

The Cardinal’s reward was to drop behind the unanimous coronation of Auburn as the new leader in the most recent Coaches’ dual meet poll. Auburn’s control of its competition with #3 Florida, together with a dual meet season-ending win over Florida State was enough to convince the poll voters that the defending NCAA Championship winners are also the best dual meet team going.

The women’s poll continued stable. Georgia still leads Auburn, which finished its season only dropping its meet with the Bulldogs.

Auburn, Stanford and Florida continue with the top combined programs, each with both men and women in the top five. Texas, Arizona and California have two top ten squads.
