After nabbing the Class of 2017’s top recruit, the University of Georgia reeled in another talented swimmer. Naples, Florida’s Kayla Tennant has verbally committed to the Bulldawgs. She swims for T2 Aquatics.

Her best times are:

  • 100 Fly 54.09
  • 200 Fly 2:02.48
  • 200 Free 1:50.25
  • 100 Free 52.15

This year Tennant will look to complete a career sweep of the Florida 3A state title in the 100 butterfly. Swimming for Gulf Coast High School she has posted times of 55.39, 54.09, and 55.42 over the past three years. Tennant is also a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

Georgia finished third in the SEC and went on to claim the NCAA title last year. With her best time, Tennant would have finished 27th, just outside scoring at last year’s Conference championship. She’ll join a butterfly group which will still have Courtney WeaverCaitlin Casazza, and Kylie Stewart when she arrives in Athens next fall.

To report a verbal commitment email HS@swimmingworld.com.
