NEW COMMIT: Lilburn, Ga. native Nate Stoffle has announced his verbal commitment to Auburn University as part of the class of 2025. He’ll join his older brother, current freshman Aidan Stoffle, in the fall of 2021.

Primarily a backstroker, Stoffle swims year-round with Spartan Aquatic Club and owns four Summer Juniors standards. He most recently competed at Georgia LCM Seniors this past summer where he placed fourth in the 100m back and seventh in the 50m free. Last winter, he finished seventh in the 100 back at Georgia SCY Seniors before going on to earn 100% best times while racing to 8th in both the 50 back and 100 back at NCSAs.

A current junior at Brookwood High School, Stoffle is a four-time Georgia 7A State Championship finalist and helped his team secure their fourth-straight title last season en route to earning gold as a member of the 4×50 medley relay. He was the 50 free runner-up and finished fifth in the 100 back as a sophomore after taking fifth in the 100 back and seventh in the 200 IM during his freshman season.

In SCY, his best times include:

  • 50 back – 22.82
  • 100 back – 48.32
  • 200 back – 1:46.44
  • 50 free – 20.74
  • 100 free – 45.43

In LCM, his best times include:

  • 50m back – 27.68
  • 100m back – 56.67
  • 200m back – 2:08.10
  • 50m free – 24.11
  • 100m free – 54.38

It took a 47.71/1:44.31 to score in the 100/200 back at the 2019 SEC Championships, but Stoffle has consistently made improvements each season with just under two years of club swimming still to go. Over the past two seasons, he has dropped three seconds in the 100 back and seven seconds in the 200 back. He’ll add his talents to a training group that’ll include his brother, Lleyton Smith, and Christian Ginieczki.
