NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Connor Rodgers of Carmel, Calif. has announced his verbal commitment to George Washington University and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2021.

He told Swimming World:

“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at George Washington University. I want to thank my family, coaches and teammates for supporting me along the way. GW has excellent academics and an outstanding swim program. I can’t wait to start. #RaiseHigh”

Rodgers, who trains year-round with Monterey Bay Swim Club, last competed at the ACSC Senior Open in February where he placed third in the 400 IM and fifth in the 200 fly. He also raced three events at Juniors West in December and earned the gold medal in the 200 fly at Far Westerns in April 2019.

In Summer 2019, Rodgers finished fourth in the 400m IM and 12th in the 200m fly at Mount Hood Futures.

His best times include:

  • 100 fly – 52.49
  • 200 fly – 1:50.04
  • 200 IM – 1:53.20
  • 400 IM – 3:59.36

Rodgers will make a big impact when he suits up for the Colonials as a member of the Class of 2025. He would’ve scored in the B-final of the 200 fly and 400 IM at the 2020 Atlantic 10 Championships where George Washington finished second overall in the team standings.
