Gary Hall, Jr. Signs With New York-Based Promoter

NEW YORK, August 8. GARY Hall Jr., the American record-holder in the 50 meter freestyle has signed with New York-based marketing agent David Arluck of Arluck Promotions LLC to handle his endorsement, appearance, and personal management responsibilities.

The two-time Olympian, eight-time Olympic medalist (4 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze), American record holder and hero to millions of swimmers and diabetes patients is a member of the US Pan American Games Team that flew to the Dominican Republic yesterday.

He currently is training to make his third United States Olympic swim team in Athens 2004. An appearance in Athens would make Gary Jr. and his father, Gary Hall Sr. the only father/son duo in the history of the Olympics to each have three Olympic Games under their respective belts.

Gary is widely known for his charismatic personality, irrepresible sense of humor, shadow boxing, and flexing at big swim meets. He travels the world passionately sharing his love for the sport of swimming and his experiences as a diabetes patient with children, parents, coaches, doctors, and executives. He serves as a national spokesperson for Johnson and Johnson's Life Scan, The American Diabetes Association, and for Novo Nordisk.

Gary has also been a special guest on several popular television programs including The Rosie O'Donnell Show; "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno; The Today Show; "The Late Late Show" with Craig Kilborn; "Late Night" with Conan O'Brien; The Best Damn Sports Show; "Live" with Regis and Kathy Lee, among many others.

Of Arluck, Hall said, "Arluck Promotions brings a focused approached to sports marketing and personal management. I am looking forward to working directly with David."

Arluck notes that, "Gary Hall Jr. is not only the most magnetic personality in the swimming world, he is an American treasure. He’s an inspiration for millions of people around the world who fight the odds everyday, whether it be diabetes, cancer, or some other ailment. He gives people hope. People feel if Gary can overcome major obstacles and become an Olympic champion, maybe I can be one too… Or, at least try!"

Gary enjoys public speaking and writing. He is currently working on a motivational video for patients who have been newly diagnosed with diabetes. Gary has also created and promoted swim events such as the Novo Nordisk Sprint Cup.
