NEW COMMIT: Futures qualifier Jack Sorenson out of Phoenix, Arizona has pledged his verbal commitment to the College of Holy Cross and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2022.

He told Swimming World:

“I am beyond thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at Holy Cross! I am so thankful to my coaches, family, and friends for their support! Go Crusaders!!”

Sorenson, who trains year-round with Phoenix Swim Club, most recently earned five best times at Austin Sectionals last month after a strong showing at the Phoenix Summer Invitational. He also finished 12th in the 100 back at Arizona Seniors in March, picking up a new lifetime best in the event.

His best times include:

  • 100 back – 52.83
  • 200 back – 1:54.85
  • 500 free – 4:43.38
  • 1000 free – 10:02.11

Sorenson also competed for Brophy College Prep High School where he is now in his senior year. As a sophomore, he finished 15th in the 500 free at the Arizona DI State Championships.

Sorenson is a huge get for the Crusaders, as he would’ve ranked No. 1 on their roster last year in the 100 back, 200 back, 500 free, and 1000 free. He’s not too far off their program records, either, with a year of club swimming still to go.
