NEW COMMIT: The United States Naval Academy has received a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from Futures qualifier and Sarasota, Fla. native Jack Lambert.

He will join Jacob Pishko of Raleigh, N.C. as a member of the Midshipmen’s Class of 2026.

He told Swimming World:

“After careful consideration of all of my options, I am extremely excited and proud to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers with the United States Naval Academy. I believe the Naval Academy will offer the best opportunities to me both in and out of the water setting me up for a lifetime of success in all my future endeavors. I would like to thank my family, coaches, and friends for all of their help and support to get me to this level and I look forward to what this bright future has in store for me. On to the next adventure….GO NAVY!!!”
A talented distance freestyler and backstroker, Lambert does his club swimming with the Sarasota Sharks and earned bronze in the 200 back and 1000 free at the Florida South Senior Championships after picking up five best times at Southern Zone South Sectionals earlier this year.

His best times include:

  • 500 free – 4:34.39
  • 1000 free – 9:14.75
  • 1650 free – 15:40.07
  • 100 back – 51.39
  • 200 back – 1:52.22
  • 400 IM – 4:01.39

A rising senior at Venice High School, Lambert raced to sixth in the 500 free at the Florida 4A State Championships during his junior season. He finished fourth in that event, as well as third in the 200 free, at the FHSAA 4A District 6 meet two weeks prior.

Lambert is a great addition to Navy’s lineup as he would’ve placed sixth in the mile at the 2020 Patriot League Championships.
