Four-Time Virginia 5A State Finalist Annabelle Young Gives Class of 2025 Verbal to Cincinnati

NEW COMMITS: The University of Cincinnati has received their first early verbal for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Henrico, Va. native Annabelle Young who announced her commitment via CollegeSwimming.

Primarily a breaststroker and IMer, Young, who owns three Junior National standards, does her club swimming with NOVA of Virginia Aquatics and finaled in a trio of events at Richmond TYR Pro Swim Series in May. Last winter, she recorded six best times at Virginia Seniors where she recorded six top-12 finishes before going on to place 16th in the 200 breast at NCSAs.

A current junior at Mills E. Godwin High School, Young is already a four-time Virginia 5A State Championship finalist. She finished ninth in both the 100 breast and 200 IM as a sophomore while racing to sixth and seventh, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:03.49
  • 200 breast – 2:15.80
  • 200 IM – 2:04.38
  • 400 IM – 4:20.64

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Cincinnati! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches and everyone else who has supported me and helped me get to where I am today. I am so excited to be a Bearcat!!!”
