Ford Aquatics Continues to Dominate Southwest Classic

TUCSON, Arizona, June 7. HOST Tucson Ford aquatics continued to dominate the Tucson Ford Dealers Southwest Classic, winning seven of 10 events on the third day of competition.

Only the men's 200m breast, and the women's 100 back and 200 IM eluded the grasp of Ford Aquatics teammates.

Day Three began with Ford's Amanda Beard and Ryk Neethling sweeping the 200 free. Beard took the women's race in 2:05.07 while Neethling won the men's event in 1:53.46, defeating NCAA champ Simon Burnett.

Erin Sieper, Ford, took the women's 200 breast in 2:40.59 while Matt Lowe, Unattached, swam off with the men's race in 2:26.00.

Jenna Gresdal, Unattached, outlasted Skye Elbert, AFOX, in a battle of 15 year-olds to win the women's 100m back in 1:05.65. Ford's Lyndon Ferns out-touched Scott Goodrich by a tenth of a second, with a 1:00.68, to emerge victorious in the men's dorsal event.

AFOX's Emily Mason won the women's 200 IM in 2:24.15 while Ford's David Rollins annexed the men's medley in 2:14.63.

Ford really showed its muscle in the 800 free relays, placing first through fourth in the women's race and first through third in the men's.
