Florida Gulf Coast Earns Commitment From Upper Arlington’s Ava Snider

NEW COMMIT: Florida Gulf Coast University has earned a new verbal commitment for the 2023-24 season and beyond from Futures qualifier Ava Snider of Columbus, Ohio, who will arrive on campus as a member of the Eagles’ Class of 2027.

She told Swimming World:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to Florida Gulf Coast University to continue my academic and athletic career!!! Thank you to my family, teammates, Upper Arlington and Socal coaches for the support along the way. Wings up!!!”

Snider does her club swimming with Upper Arlington Swim Club and most recently placed 20th in the 100m back at Geneva Futures this past summer after picking up five best times at the Tin Meyers LCM Invitational.

Her best times include:

  • 50 back – 26.80
  • 100 back – 56.86
  • 200 back – 2:02.96
  • 200 IM – 2:07.97
  • 50 free – 24.79
  • 100 free – 53.96

Currently a senior at Upper Arlington High School, Snider raced to 18th in the 100 back at the 2022 Ohio DI State Championships. She finished eighth in the 100 back and 11th in the 200 IM at the OHSAA D1 Central District Championships, too.

Under head coach Dave Rollins, FGCU finished second in the team standings at the 2022 CCSA Championships.
