Florida Atlantic Gets Verbal Commitment From Molly Jordan
NEW COMMIT: Bel Air, Md. native Molly Jordan will head south next fall with her verbal commitment to Florida Atlantic University.
Jordan swims year-round with Eagle Swim Team and capped off her summer season with a trio of best times at NCSAs. A current senior at C. Milton Wright High School, she was a four-time finalist at Maryland Senior SCY Championships which included an eighth-place showing in the 200 fly. At Christiansburg Speedo Sectionals, Jordan finished fifth in the 200 fly and had an additional pair of second swims.
She told Swimming World:
“I chose FAU to further my student athlete career because it will challenge me both academically and swimming. During my visit I also loved the coaches and the team plus the atmosphere and energy all around campus. Obviously all the palm trees and lovely beach view is an extra bonus!”
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 57.02
- 200 fly – 2:06.36
- 200 IM – 2:09.84
- 400 IM – 4:33.20
Jordan’s butterfly talents will be extremely useful for the Owls when she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2023. Her best 200 fly time would’ve scored in the B-final of the 2018 Conference USA Championships while her 100 fly would’ve placed in the C-final.
Jordan’s club coach, Scott Ward, said:
“We are thrilled Molly has found the perfect college for her academic and swimming goals. We see her improving each year and know she will continue improve and contribute to the team’s goals and culture.”
