Fighting Irish Land First 2025 Verbal From Texas State Champion Jack Armour

NEW COMMIT: The University of Notre Dame has officially begun its Class of 2025 recruiting, landing a verbal pledge from breaststroker/IMer Jackson “Jack” Armour out of Frisco, Texas.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to pursue my athletic and academic career at the University of Notre Dame! I would like to thank God, my family, my coaches, my teammates and friends for their incredible support and encouragement. Fight Irish coaches and future teammates – I’m humbled and thrilled to be part of the family! #GoIrish X #ALLIN”

A US Open qualifier, Armour trains year-round with Texas Ford Aquatics and most recently competed at Junior Nationals where he placed 12th in the 200m breast. He had a trio of top-8 finishes at College Station Sectionals in March, too.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 55.16
  • 200 breast – 1:59.54
  • 200 IM – 1:51.34
  • 400 IM – 3:56.28

Currently a junior at Wakeland High School, Armour won the 100 breast and earned bronze in the 200 IM at the 2023 UIL 5A State Championship. He placed third and fourth, respectively, in those events during his freshman season.

Under head coach Chris Lindauer, the Fighting Irish finished fifth at the 2023 ACC Championships.
