Feight, Watson and Vollmer Earn Sun Belt Performer of the Week Honors

DENVER, Colorado, October 27. UNIVERSITY of Denver divers Aaron Feight and Holly Watson and swimmer Daniel Vollmer were named Sun Belt Conference Performers of the Week, as announced by league officials. It is the second honor this season for Feight and the first honors this season for Vollmer and Watson.

Feight and Watson earned the accolades for their performances at the Early Bird Invitational. Feight earned his second individual title this season on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. He posted a 337.10 in the 1-meter and a 718.35 in the 3-meter, nearly 153 points higher than the second-place finisher. Watson was nearly as impressive on the women’s side. She earned runner-up status in the 1-meter with a score of 207.30 and took fourth-place in the 3-meter with 410.90 points.

Vollmer also made a splash at the Early Bird Invitational. In his first collegiate meet, he took third-place in the 100 back (53.91), helping the Pioneer men to a fourth-place finish. He was also a member of the 400 free relay that finished third and the 200 medley relay that took home fourth.

The Pioneers return to action this weekend when they head to Stockton, Calif. to compete at the Pacific Invitational. Denver returns to El Pomar Natatorium Nov. 3 when it hosts Utah in a dual meet.
