NEW COMMIT: Fairport Area Swim Team’s Kyla Guilfoil of Fairport, N.Y. has announced her in-state verbal commitment to swim for Manhattan College.  The Fairport High School senior will be joining the Jaspers in the fall of 2020.

She told Swimming World:

“I chose Manhattan College because of the incredible opportunities with its connections to New York City, the close knit community of the school and how their team was very close and supportive of each other.”
Competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), the Jaspers will be looking to build on their 10th place finish at the 2019 Championship.   They return 9 athletes from last year’s women’s team, adding 4 new freshman to this season’s squad.
Guilfoil will make an immediate impact to the Jasper program, excelling in the sprint freestyle and backstroke events.  Her career bests put her in multiple 2019 MAAC Championship scoring positions, where she would’ve placed twice in the A-final in both the 100 back (8th) and 100 free (4th).
Her best times include:
  • 50 Free (24.95)
  • 100 Free (52.89)
  • 100 Back (58.86)
  • 200 Back (2:08.57)
Guilfoil is a ISCA Junior National Cup qualifier, having competed in last year’s event in St. Petersburg, Florida..   She does her high school swimming for Fairport High, in Rochester, NY, where she is a four year varsity letter winner, a four time All-Greater Rochester Team member and a team captain.
