(This is the first installment of Amanda Beard's exclusive online World Championships diary for SwimInfo.com. Amanda, an Olympic gold, silver and bronze medalist, will update her diary on a regular basis, giving you a behind-the-scenes view of the World Championships in Barcelona.)

NARBONNE, France, July 11. SO we arrived in Narbonne, France, two days ago and it is so nice to be here and be done with are intense amount of traveling.

It took almost a full two days to get here and on top of that, about ten of us didn't get all of our luggage, me being one of them. I thankfully got one of my bags, but the
other one is still missing. Fun!

Our hotel is nice, we all get our own room and it is close to a mall and the pool, and a beach is about twenty minutes away. Our lives right now consist of a lot of eating, sleeping, and swimming. It is boring and very low key, but I know things will spice up a lot the closer we get to World Champs. Everyone is really amped to swim fast and you can tell that there are going to be some amazing swims in Barcelona, judging by how people are training.

It is always fun when a lot of us get together and train, I know I appreciate being in the pool with the likes of someone like Kristy Kowal, when we can swim next to each other and race. It always makes for a good workout.

We are really anxious right now and I am excited to fill you in on all the behind-the-scenes of what's going on on our World Championship journey.

Time to train, again. Talk to you soon!
