Three-time Olympian Elizabeth Beisel sprained her hand and suffered a small fracture in the warmup pool incident today at Olympic Trials.

Bluefish Swim Club head coach Chuck Batchelor confirmed to Swimming World that Beisel had an X-ray, which determined that the fracture is small and will not require a cast. Beisel still plans on swimming the 200 back beginning Thursday.

Beisel had already qualified for the Olympic team at the time the injury occurred with her second-place finish in the 400 IM Sunday night.

Beisel, who had recently been sick, scratched out of the 400 free and 100 back Monday to rest for the 200 free and 200 IM today, but she finished a disappointing 58th in the 200 free in 2:02.80 and did not swim the 200 IM.

Beisel won two medals at the Olympics in London four years ago, including a silver in the 400 IM and bronze in 200 back.

I would strongly suggest KAATSU therapy ( Michael Andrews uses this) since Chris Morgan is at the meet and knows how to apply it correctly. I hope this helps
