Eagle Swim Team’s Victoria Kaufman Verbally Commits to Akron
NEW COMMIT: Westminster, Md. native Victoria Kaufman has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Akron as a member of the class of 2023.
Kaufman does her club swimming with Eagle Swim Team and most recently recorded a best time in the 100m free at NCSAs in August. She made seven finals appearances at the Maryland Senior SCY Championships and notched a personal best in the 200 free at Christiansburg Speedo Sectionals.
She told Swimming World:
“I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Akron. I would like to thank my past and present coaches, family and friends. I am super excited to become a zip!”
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.73
- 100 free – 51.84
- 200 free – 1:52.06
- 100 back – 57.64
- 200 back – 2:03.71
When she suits up for the Zips next fall, Kaufman will join a sprint group that includes Morgan Waggoner and Paulina Nogaj and a backstroke squad led by Ellie Nebraska. Under head coach Brian Peresie, Akron captured their fifth-straight MAC Championship title last season.
Kaufman’s club coach, Scott Ward, said:
“Victoria is a young woman with a lot more in the tank as she came to us a bit late but we are very excited for her and the University of Akron. We foresee her having a successful career there as a student athlete. Go Zips!”
