Dragons Roar Into Class of 2019 Recruiting Action With Chelsea Gravereaux’s Verbal
NEW COMMIT: Drexel University has earned their first verbal commitment for the 2019 recruiting class from talented in-state freestyler and butterflyer Chelsea Gravereaux.
The Emmaus, Penn. native does her club swimming with Emmaus Aquatic Club and has reached the Winter Juniors standard in the 100 fly. She was a five-time Middle Atlantic Senior LCM Championships and raced four events at the SCY version of the meet.
Gravereaux also competes for Emmaus High School where she is a six-time PIAA 3A State Championship finalist. She placed fifth in the 100 fly and tenth in the 100 free as a junior after winning both events at the PIAA 3A District XI Championships.
She told Swimming World:
“I am very happy to announce my commitment to swim for Drexel University. The school has so much to offer and I am very excited to be a part of such a hardworking team. I cannot wait to be a DRAGON!”
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 55.40
- 50 free – 23.47
- 100 free – 51.02
- 200 free – 1:50.89
Gravereaux will roar into action when she arrives on campus for the 2019-20 season; her best 100 fly time would’ve ranked first on the Dragons’ lineup last season and scored in the A-final at the 2018 CAA Championships. She will also join a sprint freestyle group led by Alexa Kutch and Kaitlin Perni.
