NEW COMMIT: Texas A&M University has recorded a new verbal commitment for Fall 2027 from distance ace Jackson Irwin out of Sarasota, Fla. Irwin is among the top recruits in his class.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am excited to announce my academic and athletic commitment to Texas A&M. I want to give a big thanks to all my family, friends, and Sarasota Tsunami teammates for supporting me throughout the years. Thank you to Coaches Ira, Chris, and Lisa for helping me get better and grow in the pool. I want to thank Coach Blaire and Coach Jamie for this amazing opportunity and for introducing me to Aggieland. ALL IN for A&M!!!”

Irwin does his club swimming with Sarasota Tsunami Swim Team. He had a phenomenal showing at Juniors East last month, knocking off 15 seconds in the mile for a new personal best, as well as setting a three-second PB in the 400 IM. He was the runner-up in the 1650.

Last summer, he placed ninth in the 1500m free at Junior Nationals as well as 13th in both the 400m IM and 800m free.

His best times include:

  • 1650 free – 15:04.25
  • 1000 free – 9:02.85
  • 500 free – 4:25.14
  • 400 IM – 3:52.46

Currently a junior at Sarasota High School, Irwin finished second in the 500 free and third in the 200m IM at the 2025 Florida 4A State Championships. Both were lifetime bests. He took third and 10th, respectively, in those events at the state meet during his sophomore season.

Texas A&M finished fifth at the 2025 SEC Championships.
