DC Trident Adds Annika Bruhn, Simona Kubová to ISL Roster

In a move that finalizes the team roster, D.C. Trident General Manager Kaitlin Sandeno has added Czech Simona Kubová and German Annika Bruhn to the team, D.C. Trident announced today.

“I’m so excited to welcome Simona and Annika to our team,” said Sandeno. “With the additions of these amazing women to our team, we can now look forward collectively to our first ISL meet, which I cannot believe is less than three weeks away. We are a formidable group, and I truly believe the talent that we have on our team is more than enough to win in this league.”

Annika Bruhn is a two-time Olympian for her home country of Germany, competing at both the 2012 games in London and the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro.
Bruhn also won a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships in Kazan, and won multiple European Championship medals in 2018 in Glasgow. She has also swam on several national record-setting relays for Germany.
Simona Kubová began swimming for the Czech national team at the age of 14, and by 18 held a national record. She has since set more than 60 national records.
Kubová has one 11 European Championship medals, as well as one World Championship and one World University Games medal. She’ll compete for the Czech Republic in her third Olympic games in Tokyo in 2020.

The DC Trident will be coached by Cyndi Gallagher, Stefanie Williams and Rachel Stratton-Mills as part of an unprecedented all-female coaching staff.
