Dayton Raider Henrik Pohlmann Commits to Virginia

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio, October 13. THE second-ranked recruit out of the State of Ohio, Henrik Pohlmann, has committed to compete for the University of Virginia as part of Augie Busch’s Class of 2014.

Pohlmann, who is ranked in the top 100 by CollegeSwimming.com, is a dangerous backstroker who also has some IM/butterfly talent as well.

Pohlmann threw down a 56.45 in the 100-meter back as a relay leadoff for the Dayton Raiders at the 2013 Speedo Junior Nationals, and also clocked a 2:02.65 in the 200-meter back at that meet as well. He also has a 2:04.45 in the 200-meter fly from that meet to provide Busch some options on how to deploy the backstroke weapon.

Pohlmann also has some strong short course yard times. He owns a 1:46.98 in the 200-yard back as well as a 49.68 in the 100-yard back. He also posted a 3:56.48 in the 400-yard IM in the past year as he continues to develop his game in the ever-important format that the NCAA coaches are looking for.
