David Nolan Downs Two More National High School Records
LEWISBURG, Pennsylvania, March 19. A day after posting a ridiculous national high school record time in the men's 200-yard IM, Hershey's David Nolan took down two more national high school records at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class AAA Championships at Bucknell University.
Nolan took down the 100-yard back mark with a sterling time of 45.49 to move into a 14th-place tie on the all-time performers list. That swim cleared Cole Cragin's national high school record of 46.75 set back in 2009. Since Nolan goes to a public school, Alex Lim retains ownership of the independent school record with a 46.82 from 1999.
Nolan then leadoff Hershey's relay with a 42.34 100-yard free to break Vlad Morozov's national high school record of a 42.87 set last year. Joe Hudepohl retains the independent school mark with his 43.43 relay leadoff for St. Xavier back in 1992. Hershey nearly beat the national high school record in the 400 freestyle relay with a 3:00.71 for the win, but fell short of the 3:00.68 set by Saratoga High School in 2009.
