Continued Fast Swimming at NCSA Junior Nationals
ORLANDO, Florida. March 24. THE water remained hot at the National Club Club Swimming Association's Junior Nationals on Friday night. Douglas Lennox won the men's 100 butterfly event in a meet-record time of 47.78, better than the former standard of 48.12. He had earlier won the 200 fly. Tampa's Tommy Wyher also established a record, going 48.86 in the 100 men's 100 back.
Megan Christensen started things off in the women's 100 back with her 55.45, followed by the 500 freestyles. Alexandra Clarke of Arizona Desert Fox recorded another win with her 4:49.26. Joseph Ziegler, with that kind of name he's gotta be fast, from Area Tallahassee won the men's event in 4:24.48.
In the 100 breast it was Raleigh Swimming's Melanie Roberts with a win in 1:02.21. John Vogt of Nova of Virginia won a second breaststroke title with his 56.08. The 100 fly went to Julianne Lago from Metro Aquatics in 54.50. The 400 free relay went to Ann Arbor for the women with a 3:22.18. The Newburgh Sharks won the men's 400 free relay in 3:05.93.
