Coach Jack Simon’s Spine Surgery is a Success

PENANG, Malaysia. January 14. RENOWNED and distinguished semi-retired US Swimming Coach, Mr. John Simon (a.k.a. Jack Simon) underwent a successful major spine surgery at Island Hospital in Penang.

The surgery was a multi level lamenectomy followed by fusion with titanium and synthetic bone. The surgery was done on 30th December 2005 and Mr Jack Simon was released from hospital on 9th January 2006. His recovery will be in the 3 month range. He is now resting comfortably at home, a beach apartment overlooking the Andaman Sea.

Mr. Jack Simon will also be serving in Penang as Head Coach. He will be directing the local coaches and swimmers through swim camps and direct program involvement with all teams in Penang. PASA looks forward to Mr Jack Simon's experience and expertise in helping Penang to develop the sport and swimmers.
